A Three Week Cold

After three weeks of tissues, hot tea, and cough medicine, I am finally able to sit upright and breathe through both nostrils.

It’s the little things, folks.

I knew I was definitely on the mend when yesterday I started pulling out half-finished novels and mapping them in Scrivener.

I haven’t talked about my novel writing in a while.  It isn’t because I’ve forgotten it or put it down forever.  The reason is better:  I started writing children’s books.

Children’s Books

Last year, I offhandedly mentioned wanting to write some children’s books. One of my yoga friends who is an illustrator mentioned that she wanted to draw some children’s books. It seemed to make sense that we should work together.

So, we did!  And, we do!

Thank you, Susan!

Our next book is coming out April 1st, and it has DINOSAURS!

Shoot her! –Jurassic Park

*Don’t worry:  No dinosaurs were harmed in the writing of An Eartha and Audi Story.

We have another Fernando book slated for this year as well, and perhaps a few more.

I want to work some longer form stuff into my calendar which is really what I am supposed to be doing right now.

I’ll go do that now after I warm my tea.

Hey, thanks for reading.

B.A. Burgess

Barbara Burgess is a writer which is made apparent by the text in this box and the box above. She is best known for being a multi-genre/multi-writing voice author who throws caution to the wind when describing her writing career - "Oh, I write children's books, holiday romance, and sci-fi. Why? What do you do? Just one thing?" In addition to being a writer of all the things, she is the founder of Pilgrim Fowl Press and a writing facilitator bringing permission to write to the masses via Skillshare and Udemy. The only social media she frequents is Instagram (@hellothisisbarbara). Her desert island movie is Stargate (the original with James Spader), and she has been taking daily mug shots of her morning coffee since before Instagram was even a thing.
